Sandro Tepedino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Timoteo Columbo might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sandro Tepedino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Timoteo Columbo ran back to his position shaking his head. Timoteo Columbo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Sandro Tepedino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 41st minute, Timoteo Columbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Baltazar Botelho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Que se abra o mar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The wind increased when Timoteo Columbo made the kick off in the second half. If Timoteo Columbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sandro Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timoteo Columbo, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Leon Matthäus replaced Timoteo Columbo. Academia 1903's Lucien de Neutere quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Albertinho Andrade, made in the 57th minute of the game. Academia 1903's supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Matthäus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Tepedino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 68 minutes, Leon Matthäus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia 1903's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Matthäus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
