Luiz Cavalcante received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jerzy Gargasz came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Cavalcante slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. Montesclarense E.C.'s Orlando Dante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomasz Hajduk in the 15th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Edmund Adamowicz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando Dante. Montesclarense E.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmund Adamowicz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Luiz Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montesclarense E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerzy Gargasz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute of the match Montesclarense E.C. got a corner. Wicher Wilchwy Come Back's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mazinho Barral ran over to the corner to take the kick. Orlando Dante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franciszek Mitus, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Orlando Dante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmund Adamowicz in the 37th minute of play.
