Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orlando Dante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernt Jønsson to make the kick off. After 72 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Jønsson. Palmeiras's Pegoraro Da Messina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Sousa in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute of the match Montesclarense E.C. got a corner. Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nicolas Sousa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Montesclarense E.C.'s corner Nicolas Sousa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pegoraro Da Messina quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Montesclarense E.C.'s Roberto Melo got a free kick in the 79th minute. Orlando Dante was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wesley Fantini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 80 minute of play. Bernt Jønsson came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Orlando Dante could save by the left post. Pegoraro Da Messina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
