The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Andrade in the 12th minute of play. If Rony de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tato Vega. After a rather tough play, Que se abra o mar's Bebeto Pimenta got a free kick in the 20th minute. Sandro Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Retumbante FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Basílio Cearense in the 23rd minute. Retumbante FC's Décio Antonio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sandro Tepedino in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sandro Tepedino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Décio Antonio's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Retumbante FC's Apat Reina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Retumbante FC from getting a goal against them. In the 25thth minute of the game Tato Vega who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Retumbante FC's Apat Reina was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Retumbante FC's goalkeeper Apat Reina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tato Vega. Apat Reina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lando Norin, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Apat Reina successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tato Vega was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Décio Antonio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Retumbante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Décio Antonio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sandro Tepedino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jarbas Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabinho Bittencourt in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandro Tepedino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sandro Tepedino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabinho Bittencourt in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Retumbante FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Que se abra o mar.
