The supporters of El Fortín de Floresta booed when Q. T. I. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Txerran didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 minutes of play, El Fortín de Floresta's Flavio Luar made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rigoberto Ignazio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lorenzo Macias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Venancio Palban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Fortín de Floresta's Lorenzo Macias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Palban in the 28th minute of play. Rigoberto Ignazio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Selmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A beautiful save bye Q. T. I.'s goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Q. T. I.'s Rigoberto Ignazio got control of the ball when Flavio Luar tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filomeno Aurken to make the kick off.
