Arnaldo Gabon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Elvio Pacho made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Elpidio Francis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elvio Pacho was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobaldo Phelipe, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teobaldo Phelipe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elvio Pacho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But to his dismay, Eduardo Mede quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
