Pontus Nordström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teofilo Esdras in the 14th minute of the match. In the 15thth minute of the game Lionel-Andrés Messi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santa Margarita's Pontus Nordström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Defensores de Lombroso's Lionel-Andrés Messi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After the first half Defensores de Lombroso were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Santa Margarita's Mauro Icardi pulled a muscle in his back after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Ovidio Jokin fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores de Lombroso's protests and gave Ovidio Jokin a yellow card for diving instead. Defensores de Lombroso's Celso Sauveur was substituted for Lionel-Andrés Messi. In the 81st minute, one of Defensores de Lombroso:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Defensores de Lombroso. Andréas Hasselqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match.
