The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Rareș Răuţă notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mansilla's Cristian Patrido. Cristian Patrido was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Valeriu Crașovan fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ionut's protests and gave Valeriu Crașovan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Valeriu Crașovan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gerardo Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Ionut fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Ionut's Alin Iureș looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Robustiano Veremundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Patrido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Răuţă in the 21st minute of play. Mansilla's Cristian Patrido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rareș Răuţă in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mansilla's Lisandro Gaxan got a free kick in the 24th minute. Alin Iureș blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristian Patrido having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Mansilla's zone, Rareș Răuţă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Patrido came out of the goal and Rareș Răuţă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 32 minutes, Rareș Răuţă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ionut's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rareș Răuţă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mansilla's Cristian Patrido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Iureș in the 38th minute of play. Rareș Răuţă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Patrido having to interfere. Ionut's Alin Iureș got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robustiano Veremundo to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Robustiano Veremundo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicu Micescu was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Gerardo Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robustiano Veremundo in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicu Micescu saved Ionut from getting behind. Gerardo Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mansilla's Cristian Patrido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Iureș in the 68th minute of play. If Rareș Răuţă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Robustiano Veremundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute, Ionut's Romeo Agrigoroaiei seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Romeo Agrigoroaiei the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ionut protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Romeo Agrigoroaiei had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ionut! Ionut:s Nicu Micescu showed great skill when he stopped Basilio Senin:s penalty. After a long run with the ball, Basilio Senin did a trick in the 81st minute in front of Ionut's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 1-2. An impressive performance by Mansilla's Basilio Senin! With a little luck, Mansilla's Cristian Patrido got control of the ball when Rareș Răuţă tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Rareș Răuţă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicu Micescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Veremundo in the 91st minute of the match. Mansilla's Cristian Patrido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Mansilla from getting a goal against them. 98 minutes into the match, Ionut's Rareș Răuţă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristian Patrido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ionut eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
