The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hamílton Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Guia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Ligeiro F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ademir Guia hit a great ball. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Ligeiro F.C's Frank Tasso. But to his dismay, Frank Tasso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 18 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte do Vale. Ligeiro F.C's Elói Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adelino Ramalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Elói Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Tasso struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Valdir Pérez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ligeiro F.C. Valdir Pérez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elói Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Duarte do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir Pérez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Tasso in the 38th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Barreto came free, but Valdir Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

With his leg Valdir Pérez managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Ligeiro F.C's Elói Barreto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Adelino Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when Ligeiro F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elói Barreto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Valdir Pérez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Ligeiro F.C fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Ligeiro F.C's Elói Barreto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 74 minutes of play, Ligeiro F.C's Elói Barreto made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdir Pérez was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to União Verde FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Ademir Guia hit a great ball. Ligeiro F.C made a substitution. Sandro Paulista replaced Elói Barreto. Ademir Guia kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Sandro Paulistas short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Valdir Pérez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Valdir Pérez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 82nd minute, which inside left pole to 0-4. In the 86thth minute of the game Sandro Paulista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Verde FC's Valdir Pérez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sandro Paulista's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Valdir Pérez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sandro Paulista in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valdir Pérez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Laércio Damião fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Laércio Damião a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, União Verde FC's Laércio Damião got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Frank Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Ligeiro F.C left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than União Verde FC.
