Barrenta SC were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after CERRO PORTEÑO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Agustín Tastzian took the corner. After taking down the ball on Barrenta SC's corner Sydney Carioca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cãlin Damaschin quite easily take care of the ball. Sydney Carioca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cãlin Damaschin came out and tried to block the shot, but Sydney Carioca slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 15th minute of play forced Barrenta SC's goalkeeper Patric Isaksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Tastzian got free with Cãlin Damaschin in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Tastzian in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Barrenta SC's zone, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patric Isaksson came out of the goal and Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patric Isaksson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 29 minutes Barrenta SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgar Kensicki who took care of the corner kick. The corner led CERRO PORTEÑO's Edgar Kensicki to fire away a dangerous shot which Patric Isaksson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cãlin Damaschin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Tastzian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save CERRO PORTEÑO from getting a goal against them. Agustín Tastzian had several of the CERRO PORTEÑO's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Cãlin Damaschin as he didn't even see the shot coming. CERRO PORTEÑO's 王树帆 was substituted for Edgar Kensicki. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, 王树帆 put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Patric Isaksson. In the 45th match minute, Barrenta SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nuno Arruda to maneuver through the defense. Patric Isaksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Maldini in the 45th minute of play. Agustín Tastzian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Cãlin Damaschin made a huge save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agustín Tastzian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Di Marinho charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Di Marinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Barrenta SC's Di Marinho got a free kick in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Fellipe Lago came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 56 played minutes CERRO PORTEÑO got a freekick which was hit by Vermudo Capetillo. The supporters of Barrenta SC booed when CERRO PORTEÑO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moreno Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Urban Stenman came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Di Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of CERRO PORTEÑO booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 王树帆 in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patric Isaksson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the CERRO PORTEÑO players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barrenta SC.
