After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Hermengildo Erroman got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute Júlio Gentil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pankracy Glogowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 played minutes Tord Böcklund shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski to catch but Tord Böcklund was lucky. It became 1-0 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Emil Chwalkiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Chwalkiewicz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vito de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pankracy Glogowski made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Júlio Gentil sent off a good shot on target. Club Atlético Atlanta's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Júlio Gentil scored to the left of an out of position Pankracy Glogowski, making the score, 2-0. Júlio Gentils short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Pankracy Glogowski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rosendo Cutberto tried in the game's 37th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Pankracy Glogowski. An annoying self made goal, 3-0. 39 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Candal. Vito de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Caradaro in the 41st minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Vito de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tord Böcklund fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matos Velhos's protests and gave Tord Böcklund a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Matos Velhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Böcklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Atlético Atlanta's Emil Chwalkiewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Şevket Çağa made a kick off. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Vilhena in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tord Böcklund in the 61st minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Şevket Çağa. In the 64th minute, Paolo Caradaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Henrique Candal hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Matos Velhos made a substitution. Lee Beckford replaced Henrique Candal. Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Berdoi in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Nietlisbach in the 94th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Pankracy Glogowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
