Çağdaş Quaresma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Józef Wandzik read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Dark Drinkers Sanok's Benet Amorebieta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter-Michael Schmeichel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Janusze Futbolu's goalkeeper Peter-Michael Schmeichel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Janusze Futbolu defense, Benet Amorebieta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter-Michael Schmeichel. The Janusze Futbolu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter-Michael Schmeichel should have stopped the shot. In the 22nd match minute, Janusze Futbolu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Çağdaş Quaresma to maneuver through the defense. Wiktor Hludzenski got a throw-in 23 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Benet Amorebieta. Matteo Suloaga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peter-Michael Schmeichel having to make a save. Dark Drinkers Sanok's Józef Wandzik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Dark Drinkers Sanok from getting a goal against them. If Claudio Caniglia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudio Caniglia got free with Józef Wandzik in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 played minutes Janusze Futbolu got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Trancoso. Dark Drinkers Sanok's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nando Campidelis in the 47th minute. Dark Drinkers Sanok's Nando Campidelis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Peter-Michael Schmeichel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benet Amorebieta made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Dark Drinkers Sanok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Odachowski to maneuver through the defense. Ryszard Szewczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Janusze Futbolu's Çağdaş Quaresma got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benet Amorebieta in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter-Michael Schmeichel saved Janusze Futbolu from getting behind. Dark Drinkers Sanok's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nando Campidelis in the 59th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Janusze Futbolu's goalie and right to Matty Cash. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Janusze Futbolu's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 62 minutes into the match, Dark Drinkers Sanok's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Caniglia came free, but Józef Wandzik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Janusze Futbolu got a freekick which was hit by Kapiton Bomba. Józef Wandzik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolás Tagliafico in the 67th minute of play. Janusze Futbolu's Claudio Caniglia got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Janusze Futbolu's Eugeniusz Osowski was substituted for Kapiton Bomba. Çağdaş Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Benet Amorebieta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter-Michael Schmeichel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Javier Zanetti hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Józef Wandzik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudio Caniglia, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Dark Drinkers Sanok's Nando Campidelis managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Danny Carey in the 85 minute of the game. Danny Carey made in the 90th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Raşit Alpaslan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benet Amorebieta in the 93rd minute of play forced Janusze Futbolu's goalkeeper Peter-Michael Schmeichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter-Michael Schmeichel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benet Amorebieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dark Drinkers Sanok's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
