After 8 played minutes, FC Zohy's Patryk Banach shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rainer Seltorp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Zohy reached it. In the 9th minute, Damon Harrington ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kang Le Yu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Kang Le Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 余义枫 in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Damon Harrington notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Zohy's Kang Le Yu. Kang Le Yu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in FC Zohy's zone, Kris Devine stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kang Le Yu came out of the goal and Kris Devine tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute, Cao Bang Wei reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rainer Seltorp. The goal made the score 1-3. In the 29th minute, Patryk Banach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when John-Paul Bannister in the 31st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Kang Le Yu's left hand side. Stefan Hilditch might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kang Le Yu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stefan Hilditch ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, FC Zohy's Wawrzyniec Dzierwa got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute Kris Devine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kang Le Yu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 余义枫 took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kang Le Yu. Kang Le Yu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. FC Zohy's Kang Le Yu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 余义枫 in the 44th minute of play. Kang Le Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Paul Bannister in the 45th minute of play. Rainer Seltorp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliks Fiszer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Damon Harrington in the 95th minute of play forced FC Zohy's goalkeeper Kang Le Yu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
