The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Pragmáticos 1903's Thierry Henry in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bucéfalo FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Thierry Henry sped through Bucéfalo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rui de Mendonça. The supporters of Bucéfalo FC booed when Pragmáticos 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute Thierry Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui de Mendonça came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Pragmáticos 1903's Thierry Henry. But to his dismay, Thierry Henry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 22nd minute of play forced Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Rui de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bucéfalo FC booed when Pragmáticos 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Arthur Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Carlos Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes of play, Pragmáticos 1903's Thierry Henry made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rui de Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Arthur Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Carlos Britto was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. In the 32nd minute Bucéfalo FC were awarded a corner. Diamantino Ferreira went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Pragmáticos 1903's goalie and right to Paulo Nunes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Pragmáticos 1903's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Zé Carlos Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arthur Branco's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Thierry Henry's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui de Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Zé Carlos Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Passos in the 45th minute of the match.

Arthur Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Carlos Britto having to interfere. Thierry Henry took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui de Mendonça. Rui de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Rui de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Bucéfalo FC booed when Pragmáticos 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deivid Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Passos in the 66th minute of the match. Thierry Henry took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui de Mendonça. Rui de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Bucéfalo FC made a substitution. Romário Passos replaced Diamantino Ferreira. Thierry Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rui de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thierry Henry's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thierry Henry in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui de Mendonça saved Bucéfalo FC from getting behind. If Thierry Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rui de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 80th minute of play. Thierry Henry scored 0-7 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui de Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delfim de Lara got free with Rui de Mendonça in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Pragmáticos 1903 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
