After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Mohamed Basso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmo Saldanha came out of the goal and Mohamed Basso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chico de Sousa hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute Mohamed Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmo Saldanha came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Capibaribe Stars's Mohamed Basso. But to his dismay, Mohamed Basso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 14th minute Leonardo Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Mohamed Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Wilton Fontes sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Dalmo Saldanha threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Wilton Fontes this time. In the 22nd minute Chico de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomás Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Mohamed Basso notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha. Dalmo Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Basso in the 28th minute of play. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mohamed Basso in the 30th minute of play. Mohamed Basso struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Dalmo Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capibaribe Stars. After 36 minutes of play, Capibaribe Stars's Mohamed Basso made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dalmo Saldanha was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 39thth minute of the game Mohamed Basso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner. Wilton Fontes went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Wilton Fontes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha did a great save. Thomás Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mohamed Basso in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Chico de Sousa made the kick off in the second half. Mihnea Zamfir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Dalmo Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute Mohamed Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Jarl Rossebø came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Guerra in the 66th minute of play. Mohamed Basso struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Dalmo Saldanha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capibaribe Stars. 71 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Guerra came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Capibaribe Stars's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Horia Voitiş was slow to take the kick. During this time Jovens Democratas MZC's players had a chance to rest. After 74 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Bittencourt. In the 77th minute Mohamed Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Mohamed Basso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Dalmo Saldanha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Mohamed Basso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dalmo Saldanha was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Capibaribe Stars's Thomás Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Guerra in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Denislav Mesalski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomás Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy de Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Jovens Democratas MZC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Capibaribe Stars.
