MarquinhosEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PIAUÍ FC the free kick. Gabriel Martini kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Freitas in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute of the match MarquinhosEC got a corner. PIAUÍ FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florin Susara ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of PIAUÍ FC's goalie and right to Michael Meertens. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. PIAUÍ FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 10 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Freitas came free, but Serginho Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vágner Porto hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of PIAUÍ FC's goalie and right to Mário Fernandes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. PIAUÍ FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Serginho Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Fernandes in the 15th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baturhan Oytun got free with Zézinho Simões in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute PIAUÍ FC were awarded a corner. Demis Katsarolidis went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Demis Katsarolidis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zézinho Simões quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. MarquinhosEC's Zézinho Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Trancoso in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Guga Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind MarquinhosEC's goalkeeper Zézinho Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Inácio Freitas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serginho Nogueira was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. MarquinhosEC's Barrie Deacon got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Freitas in the 28th minute of play. MarquinhosEC's Zézinho Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save MarquinhosEC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Freitas in the 33rd minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Esteve Quinto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MarquinhosEC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PIAUÍ FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of MarquinhosEC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PIAUÍ FC:s goal. Serginho Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florin Susara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baturhan Oytun in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zézinho Simões, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Baturhan Oytun did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Zézinho Simões 38 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Curt Montes in the 42nd minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Freitas in the 45th minute of play. Zézinho Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Trancoso in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The wind increased when Vágner Porto made the kick off in the second half. Florin Susara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Serginho Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Freitas in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serginho Nogueira saved PIAUÍ FC from getting behind. Vágner Portos short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Serginho Nogueira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zézinho Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Trancoso in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Guga Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PIAUÍ FC made a substitution. Mete Gøl replaced Guga Trancoso. PIAUÍ FC's Fernandinho Mesquita was substituted for Demis Katsarolidis. 68 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Freitas came free, but Zézinho Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juninho Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zézinho Simões read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Zézinho Simões came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun. But to his dismay, Baturhan Oytun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Serginho Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrinho Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira got control of the ball when Florin Susara tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inácio Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Nogueira having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Freitas came free, but Zézinho Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zézinho Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Freitas in the 91st minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Mete Gøl came free, but Zézinho Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MarquinhosEC booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. PIAUÍ FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
