Ferreira Lopes MZC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baturhan Oytun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 6 minutes into the game, Dida Teixeira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Serginho Nogueira. Dida Teixeira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Tomé Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baturhan Oytun in the 11th minute of the match. Serginho Nogueira made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Franklin Souza sent off a good shot on target. Serginho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Souza in the 17th minute of play. Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Freitas in the 19th minute of play. PIAUÍ FC were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Ferreira Lopes MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Demis Katsarolidis took the corner. The corner ended in Juninho Freitas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro did a great save. Serginho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Alcântara in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute Ronaldo Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Alcântara in the 28th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juninho Freitas spun around in front of the goal 32 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ferreira Lopes MZC's goal. Tomé Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guga Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baturhan Oytun in the 37th minute of play forced Ferreira Lopes MZC's goalkeeper Tomé Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute Juninho Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ronaldo Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baturhan Oytun to make the kick off. When PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ferreira Lopes MZC's goalie prevented a goal. 54 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomé Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as PIAUÍ FC's Baturhan Oytun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomé Montenegro. That made the score 1-2 after 60 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Ferreira Lopes MZC's Franklin Souza got a free kick in the 65th minute. PIAUÍ FC made a substitution. Mete Gøl replaced Juninho Freitas. PIAUÍ FC's Fernandinho Mesquita was substituted for Demis Katsarolidis. After 66 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Souza. 67 minutes into the game, Baturhan Oytun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Tomé Montenegro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Guga Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomé Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandinho Mesquita in the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th minute of the match, Guga Trancoso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tomé Montenegro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tomé Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ferreira Lopes MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renato Sá was slow to take the kick. During this time PIAUÍ FC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on PIAUÍ FC's corner Renato Sá fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomé Montenegro quite easily take care of the ball. In the 87th minute, Ronaldo Alcântara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ferreira Lopes MZC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Tomé Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baturhan Oytun, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Tomé Montenegro was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Guga Trancoso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Guga Trancoso really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. PIAUÍ FC played a much better game than Ferreira Lopes MZC and deserved their victory. The Ferreira Lopes MZC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
