Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) Mevlüt Zeyrek scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lemi Vacip, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lokman Sağlamtürk in the 17th minute of play forced Cappadocia FC's goalkeeper Lemi Vacip to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mahsun Sonalp stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reşat Hacısalihoğlu's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Lemi Vacip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Temel Ulubaş in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Mevlüt Zeyrek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newells Old Boys fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Lemi Vacip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lokman Sağlamtürk in the 31st minute of play. After 33 minutes of play, Newells Old Boys's Lokman Sağlamtürk made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lemi Vacip was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Temel Ulubaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahsun Sonalp made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Reşat Hacısalihoğlu sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute, Celal Oğurata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lemi Vacip came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Newells Old Boys's Lokman Sağlamtürk. But to his dismay, Lokman Sağlamtürk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lokman Sağlamtürk was the one to do the kick off. Reşat Hacısalihoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mahsun Sonalp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Cappadocia FC's Reşat Hacısalihoğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mahsun Sonalp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Cappadocia FC's zone, Mevlüt Zeyrek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lemi Vacip came out of the goal and Mevlüt Zeyrek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serter Gökyüzü during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cappadocia FC booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serter Gökyüzü didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 66 played minutes Cappadocia FC got a freekick which was hit by Yalçın Dilsuz. Lemi Vacip made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lokman Sağlamtürk in the 68th minute of play. Mahsun Sonalp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reşat Hacısalihoğlu in the 71st minute of play. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 1-6 when Lokman Sağlamtürk sped through Cappadocia FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lemi Vacip. In the 81st minute, Zikri Temizcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Babür Devlet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cappadocia FC's goalkeeper Lemi Vacip, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bülent Birdal's late challenge caught a Newells Old Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bülent Birdal helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cappadocia FC! Newells Old Boys's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
