The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Åke Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Ola Askstedt in the 8th minute of play. After some careless play in the Änglarna FF defense, Jack Eklund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgar Lindblom. The Änglarna FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar Lindblom should have stopped the shot. Esbjörn Ahlbeck took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Åke Björling. Åke Björling dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Karl-Oskar Skoog hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Åke Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jens-Ola Askstedt in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Motala's goal looked a bit too open when Esbjörn Ahlbeck came free, but Åke Björling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Bertil Näfver made a precise shot to the right of Åke Björling. Motala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 25th minute, Esbjörn Ahlbeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Simon Kinell hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Åke Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ola Askstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ola Askstedt in the 30th minute of play forced Motala's goalkeeper Åke Björling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jack Eklund in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Lindblom prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 43rd minute Bertil Näfver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Esbjörn Ahlbeck made a precise shot to the right of Åke Björling. Motala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The Motala players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Änglarna FF were winning 1-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bertil Näfver made a kick off. Motala's Åke Björling proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Motala from getting a goal against them. 56 minutes into the match, Esbjörn Ahlbeck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Åke Björling. Motala's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Esbjörn Ahlbeck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. In the 58th minute, Bertil Näfver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Änglarna FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Eklund came free, but Edgar Lindblom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jack Eklund fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Motala's protests and gave Jack Eklund a yellow card for diving instead. The Motala fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Änglarna FF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
