When Frans Blixt came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Mansfield Town FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frans Blixt couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frans Blixt in the 6th minute of play forced Gnaget United FC's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute of the match Mansfield Town FC got a corner. Gnaget United FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emanuel Rosin ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 14 played minutes Mansfield Town FC got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Häger. Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gnaget United FC from getting a goal against them. Peter Kellberg hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Peter Kellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anders Utter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christoffer Byström in the 24th minute of the match. Ronnie Hellström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Michael Gudmundsson went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 32nd match minute, Gnaget United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Pååk to maneuver through the defense. Ronnie Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frans Blixt in the 33rd minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Mansfield Town FC's corner Michael Gudmundsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ronnie Hellström quite easily take care of the ball. In the 38th minute, Peter Kellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the game, Michael Gudmundsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronnie Hellström. Michael Gudmundsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frans Blixt in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Gnaget United FC booed when Mansfield Town FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Rosin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Butt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Krister Albom hit a great ball. Paul Scholes, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michael Gudmundsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frans Blixt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anders Utter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredric Klint in the 60th minute of the match. A collision led to Mansfield Town FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Krister Albom hit a great ball. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gnaget United FC's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michael Gudmundsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute Paul Scholes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anders Utter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Rosin in the 77th minute of play. If Frans Blixt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Gudmundsson in the 81st minute of play forced Gnaget United FC's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Bern hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Mansfield Town FC's Anders Utter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Mansfield Town FC from getting a goal against them. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Gudmundsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Kellberg kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Frans Blixt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronnie Hellström was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Fredric Klint received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Anders Utter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frans Blixt in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gnaget United FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mansfield Town FC.
