The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stade Ygossais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Guy Rambaud took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frigyes Rigó. Frigyes Rigó dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugène Guiguet in the 40th minute of play. Alphonse Keita charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alphonse Keita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Saubrigues getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Morgan Ayad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Raphaël Giacometti came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the FC Saubrigues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raphaël Giacometti couldn't finish the play. Guy Rambaud received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 72nd match minute, FC Saubrigues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alphonse Keita to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Stade Ygossais's goal looked a bit too open when Jules Cointe came free, but Frigyes Rigó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frigyes Rigó dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Eugène Guiguet hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. FC Saubrigues's Raphaël Giacometti got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Saubrigues's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
