The audience thought a goal was coming when Alessio Troiani got free with Antonio Alati in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Franco Ragusa's late challenge caught a Aversa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Franco Ragusa helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes Supremacy Catania FC got a freekick which was hit by Franco Ragusa. After a defensive mix-up in Supremacy Catania FC's zone, Ciro Buccella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Alati came out of the goal and Ciro Buccella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Supremacy Catania FC's Antonio Alati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Buccella in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Aversa booed when Supremacy Catania FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Monaco didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ciro Buccella fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Aversa's protests and gave Ciro Buccella a yellow card for diving instead. Supremacy Catania FC's Florian Bergomi was substituted for Emiliano Bontempi. After a rather tough play, Aversa's Ciro Buccella got a free kick in the 21st minute. Adriano Briganti charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adriano Briganti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, Aversa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Briganti to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 24 minutes, Eugenio Orioli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Supremacy Catania FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Orioli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Ciro Buccella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Alati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Buccella scored 3-0 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antonio Alati, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 43 minutes into the game, Ciro Buccella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Antonio Alati was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antonio Alati made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessio Troiani in the 47th minute. Antonio Alati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Concetto Betti in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franco Ragusa was the one to do the kick off. Antonio Alati took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Paolini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Troiani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Alati having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Alessio Troiani made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Supremacy Catania FC's Antonio Alati tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Ciro Buccella had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Antonio Alati. Supremacy Catania FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Buccella was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Antonio Alati made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciro Buccella in the 70th minute of play. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Supremacy Catania FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ciro Paolini was slow to take the kick. During this time Aversa's players had a chance to rest. 73 minutes into the game, Aversa's Alessandro Domenghini nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Alati made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Antonio Alati didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alessio Troiani went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. 82 minutes into the match, Supremacy Catania FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciro Buccella came free, but Antonio Alati reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Alati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Buccella in the 84th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Alessio Troiani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Alati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Domenghini took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Antonio Alati. Antonio Alati dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. After some careless play in the Supremacy Catania FC defense, Concetto Betti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonio Alati. The Supremacy Catania FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Alati should have stopped the shot. After 96 minutes of play, Aversa's Concetto Betti made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antonio Alati was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aversa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
