The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Herbert Sempels sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roderik De Fauw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Téo Mello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roderik De Fauw. Ulan Bator Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Téo Mello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Mello in the 13th minute of play forced Ulan Bator Football Club's goalkeeper Roderik De Fauw to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Levent Gervazov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roderik De Fauw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Ulan Bator Football Club's Herbert Sempels ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Raycho Kaleev. Raycho Kaleev yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herbert Sempels in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raycho Kaleev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raycho Kaleev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herbert Sempels's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Ulan Bator Football Club's Roderik De Fauw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Mello in the 33rd minute of play. Ulan Bator Football Club's attentive Gaetan De Beer managed to snatch the ball when Hristo Pisanov made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. After 35 minutes, Boyko Tuevski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cup2 and the Ulan Bator Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ulan Bator Football Club's Herbert Sempels got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 40 played minutes Ulan Bator Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Ros Vos de Vos. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Georgi Tasev made in the 78th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ulan Bator Football Club's Mattheo Smeulders. Raycho Kaleev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattheo Smeulders, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Cup2's goal looked a bit too open when Ros Vos de Vos came free, but Raycho Kaleev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Herbert Sempels sped through Cup2's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raycho Kaleev. Ulan Bator Football Club made a substitution. Steven de Neutere replaced Mattheo Smeulders. The throw-in from Georgi Tasev in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ulan Bator Football Club's Gaetan De Beer. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ulan Bator Football Club fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cup2 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
