When Abel da Silva fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Loser FC's protests and gave Abel da Silva a yellow card for diving instead. 9 minutes into the game, New Loser FC's Fiori Paraibano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustavo Branco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Cláudio Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Serginho Perez sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Lindner F.C booed when New Loser FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Quirino in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Fiori Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori Paraibano in the 53rd minute of play forced Lindner F.C's goalkeeper Gustavo Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Célio Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Gustavo Branco made a huge save. Felippe Madureira hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Gustavo Branco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marcel Rosa. Gustavo Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Quirino in the 62nd minute of play. Gustavo Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Quirino in the 63rd minute of the match. Lindner F.C's Gustavo Branco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Lindner F.C from getting a goal against them. After 66 played minutes New Loser FC got a freekick which was hit by Aírton Quirino. 69 minutes into the match, Lindner F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Fiori Paraibano came free, but Gustavo Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 played minutes New Loser FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrique de Salles. The audience was convinced that Aírton Quirino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Branco was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Marcel Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Gustavo Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Fiori Paraibano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Gustavo Branco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Aírton Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aírton Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Gustavo Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dalmo Rosado made in the 89th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which James Harden however managed to control. Aírton Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Branco having to interfere. If Aírton Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. New Loser FC's attentive Cássio Favoretto managed to snatch the ball when Dinei de Medeiros made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. A throw-in in the 96th minute of the game was made by Dinei de Medeiros with Dalmo Rosado as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Cláudio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felippe Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the New Loser FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
