If Severino de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Reginaldo Soeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brasília FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Toa Toa 4EVER the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Brasília FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reginaldo Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. Severino de Senna struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Adhemar Corrêa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toa Toa 4EVER. Anísio Rezende scored 1-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adhemar Corrêa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vânderson de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Adhemar Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Reginaldo Soeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Vânderson de Senna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adhemar Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betão Sena made a kick off. Severino de Senna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Corrêa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Nilson Gaspar's late challenge caught a Brasília FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilson Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brasília FC booed when Toa Toa 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rogério Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anísio Rezendes short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Adhemar Corrêa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 79 minutes into the match, Brasília FC's goalkeeper Adhemar Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anísio Rezende. Severino de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Corrêa having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Toa Toa 4EVER eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
