Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kauã Hermes to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Vânderson Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kauã Hermes in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erivaldo Furlan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute Glauco Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Narciso Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tamboril's protests and gave Narciso Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Narciso Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
