In the 6thth minute of the game Lúcio Seneca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Vasco FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jairo Tinoco hit a great ball. When Nicolao Crispino came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolao Crispino couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durvalino Dracena during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Diego Teixeira charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
