Carlos Lira had several of the Pirajiba's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Basílio Cosme as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to ADM Taquaras getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rubinho Travassos hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Michel Cannavaro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 51 minutes into the match. In the 51st match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Cannavaro to maneuver through the defense. Pirajiba's Natanael Couto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for ADM Taquaras. In the 54th minute, Carlos Lira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Michel Ibrahimovic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ADM Taquaras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. Pirajiba's Basílio Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubinho Travassos in the 66th minute of play. Basílio Cosme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Ibrahimovic, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 74 played minutes ADM Taquaras got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Alcântara. In the 80th match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulão Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Alcântara made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Pirajiba's Rodriguinho Alvarenga. 95 minutes into the match, Rubinho Travassos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Basílio Cosme. Pirajiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rubinho Travassos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0.
