Spectators: 160 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 37, VIP seats: 3) MUSHIBA FC's Rafa Alves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in MUSHIBA FC's zone, Kaká Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Vergílio came out of the goal and Kaká Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sagarana Clube booed when MUSHIBA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaká Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, MUSHIBA FC's Rafa Alves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edmundo de Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Valdemar Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sagarana Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Vergílio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 17th minute of the game Jarbas de Queirós made a throw-in which Paulo Renato Ferreira played forward. Osvaldo Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafa Alves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edmundo de Lima came out and tried to block the shot, but Rafa Alves slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. Osvaldo Vergílio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Leite in the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Kaká Rosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldo Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Rafa Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Rafa Alves came free, but Edmundo de Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar Leite to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Valdemar Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Vergílio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarbas de Queirós hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 74th match minute, MUSHIBA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinho Tande to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Rosa got free with Osvaldo Vergílio in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. MUSHIBA FC's Deivid Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmundo de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafa Alves, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute.
