In the 8thth minute of the game Cristian Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buritama Sports's Wanderson Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Tolsson came free, but Fernandão Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Josef Tolsson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 11 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Fernandão Penha was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Frederico Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernandão Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's Jeferson Mandrak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wanderson Pena narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 32 minutes of play, Buritama Sports's Sandrinho Massa made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernandão Penha was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Josef Tolsson put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Fernandão Penha. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Josef Tolsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernandão Penha was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Josef Tolsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 89 minute of play.
