Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Arantes in the 6th minute of the match. After 7 minutes, Rafael Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Agua Santa and the AVAÍ F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Rafael Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Salles came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AVAÍ F.C. were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Agua Santa's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luiz Pombal took the corner. 15 minutes into the match, Teodoro Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé Mota. Agua Santa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodoro Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 21 played minutes AVAÍ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Dantas. Tomé Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luizão Dantas in the 27th minute. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Salles in the 30th minute of play. Teodoro Magalhães scored 2-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomé Mota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Thiago Neiva hit a great ball. After 38 played minutes, Agua Santa's Jânio Arantes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcos Buffon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Agua Santa reached it. Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oséas Trigo to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Agua Santa booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Enrique Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Agua Santa's protests and gave Enrique Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Enrique Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomé Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Agua Santa:s Tomé Mota showed great skill when he stopped Luiz Pombal:s penalty. A collision led to AVAÍ F.C. getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Mateus Alves hit a great ball. If Enrique Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AVAÍ F.C.'s Wilton Abraão was substituted for Teodoro Magalhães. AVAÍ F.C.'s Ronaldinho Brito was substituted for Mateus Alves. The supporters of Agua Santa booed when AVAÍ F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th match minute, AVAÍ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago Neiva to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Walmyr Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Tomé Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilton Abraão went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Tomé Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizão Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Wilton Abraão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomé Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 92 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Dantas came free, but Tomé Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Cearense hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Agua Santa's Jânio Arantes got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Walmyr Salles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AVAÍ F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AVAÍ F.C. fully deserved thier win.
