Jacinto Martxot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florentino Janpier's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. The attack was good, but when Mart Palermo in the 18th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cecilio Niguel got free with Pavel Chivu in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Real Rosario's zone, Mart Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Martxot came out of the goal and Mart Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Real Rosario's Abel Gabon got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Real Rosario! Jacinto Martxot went to the wrong direction when Florentino Janpier was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some careless play in the Real Rosario defense, Mart Palermo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacinto Martxot. The Real Rosario fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacinto Martxot should have stopped the shot. After 46 minutes of play, Devoto club social's Florentino Janpier made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacinto Martxot was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Herminio Tristan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Devoto club social's Mart Palermo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jacinto Martxot. Jacinto Martxot yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Fermin Tauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 55 minutes of play, Devoto club social's Florentino Janpier made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacinto Martxot was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jacinto Martxot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mart Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Eustaquio Vedillo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Eustacio Iyan sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Real Rosario's Jacinto Martxot didn't even have to move. Jacinto Martxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mart Palermo in the 83rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Real Rosario's Jacinto Martxot got control of the ball when Florentino Janpier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Devoto club social's Pavel Chivu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Tristan in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Rosario's goalkeeper Jacinto Martxot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Harri in the 97th minute of play forced Real Rosario's goalkeeper Jacinto Martxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Devoto club social's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
