Hugo Araya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Favila Villaren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Hugo Araya had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusko Zubicoeta. In the 10th minute, Nova Soccer's Favila Villaren dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Zorros del Desierto's Hugo Araya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Zorros del Desierto from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Nova Soccer booed when Zorros del Desierto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eufrasio Larenas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nova Soccer's Favila Villaren got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusko Zubicoeta got free with Hugo Araya in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Concetto Mare in the 25th minute of play forced Nova Soccer's goalkeeper Estefan Vizcarreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Concetto Mare scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Estefan Vizcarreto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Estefan Vizcarreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto Mare, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Favila Villaren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Hugo Araya when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 44 minutes into the game, Javier Rufo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zorros del Desierto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nova Soccer the free kick. Javier Rufo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donat Collier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 94 minutes, German Galban mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Soccer and the Zorros del Desierto players grew even worse after the yellow card. German Galban hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The Zorros del Desierto supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Zorros del Desierto would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
