The audience held their breath when Eyüp Kalender in the 10th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Cemal Canalp's left hand side. After 11 minutes, Işıkalp Kalhan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blue Mountain State and the Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Işıkalp Kalhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ali Güralp Bedük had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th match minute, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaffar Uram to maneuver through the defense. Cemal Canalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Kaká in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Blue Mountain State getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Köksal Eröz hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Kaká came free, but Cemal Canalp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Mountain State's zone, Ali Güralp Bedük stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıza Atasoy came out of the goal and Ali Güralp Bedük tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rıza Atasoy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aytunç Kelim in the 33rd minute of play. Rıza Atasoy made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Ferman Kaplan sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Rıza Atasoy threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aytunç Kelim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Efekan Selim scored 0-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cemal Canalp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute, Ricardo Kaká made a precise shot to the right of Cemal Canalp. Blue Mountain State's Rıza Atasoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferman Kaplan in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Blue Mountain State getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Eyüp Kalender hit a great ball. Cemal Canalp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Kaká, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Mountain State's zone, Ferman Kaplan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıza Atasoy came out of the goal and Ferman Kaplan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 played minutes Karadeniz Ereğli S.K. got a freekick which was hit by Aytunç Kelim. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain State's Eyüp Kalender got a free kick in the 68th minute. Blue Mountain State's Rıza Atasoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Güralp Bedük in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Ricardo Kaká notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Karadeniz Ereğli S.K.'s Cemal Canalp. Cemal Canalp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Mountain State's zone, Aytunç Kelim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rıza Atasoy came out of the goal and Aytunç Kelim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Blue Mountain State players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
