In the 18th minute, Thomas Helberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hartlepool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Diguinho Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calcio U21's supporters rose to their feet, but Diguinho Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Munter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Calcio U21 getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Rasmus Gudmundsson hit a great ball. Martin Munter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Johan Lidman in the 40th minute of play. Ivan Bjursell kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 45 played minutes Hartlepool got a freekick which was hit by Vilhelm Västerstrand. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Thomas Helberg got free with Wiktor Bock in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the game, Thomas Helberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. After 66 played minutes, Hartlepool's Erland Björkkvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wiktor Bock came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hartlepool reached it. Martin Munter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Johan Lidman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 78 minutes into the match, Hartlepool's goal looked a bit too open when Iivo Puistola came free, but Martin Munter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Calcio U21 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. When Erland Söderman fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calcio U21's protests and gave Erland Söderman a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Calcio U21's Erland Söderman got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Calcio U21 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hartlepool were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
