After a defensive mix-up in PAOK FC's zone, Faudel Langlois stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vassilis Sapanis came out of the goal and Faudel Langlois tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute Raphaël Giacometti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vassilis Sapanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Faudel Langlois managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Saubrigues's supporters rose to their feet, but Faudel Langlois was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vassilis Sapanis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruno Heim hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Eutichios Kaligeros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PAOK FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 28 minutes into the game, Bruno Heim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vassilis Sapanis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to FC Saubrigues getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Guy Rambaud hit a great ball. Guy Rambaud's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vassilis Sapanis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Mathys Mora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodosis Giannou in the 37th minute of the match. FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eutichios Kaligeros in the 38th minute of play. FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save FC Saubrigues from getting a goal against them. When PAOK FC's Marios Karagiannos in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Theodosis Giannou was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Minas Piliouras in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Saubrigues's goalkeeper Mathys Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raphaël Giacometti got free with Vassilis Sapanis in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raphaël Giacometti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Vassilis Sapanis made a huge save. 67 minutes into the match, Eutichios Kaligeros notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Saubrigues's Mathys Mora. Mathys Mora was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Faudel Langlois fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vassilis Sapanis having to interfere. In the 72nd match minute, PAOK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Soulis Katsara to maneuver through the defense. Raphaël Giacometti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Vassilis Sapanis made a huge save. With a little luck, PAOK FC's Vassilis Sapanis got control of the ball when Guy Rambaud tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to PAOK FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Theodosis Giannou hit a great ball. PAOK FC's Vassilis Sapanis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save PAOK FC from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, Minas Piliouras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vassilis Sapanis made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Raphaël Giacometti sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute, Theodosis Giannou ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathys Mora was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. The PAOK FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
