Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 113, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thomas Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cederic Borginions in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Brakkies New Bastards booed when Weed Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jurgen Oorschot didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Yens Uytebroeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Van De Wiele in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Yens Uytebroeck made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Smeekes. Weed Excelsior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 26 minutes into the game, Yens Uytebroeck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brakkies New Bastards's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Weed Excelsior the free kick. 28 minutes into the match, Weed Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Yens Uytebroeck came free, but Thomas Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teo Van De Wiele in the 30th minute of play forced Weed Excelsior's goalkeeper Thomas Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yens Uytebroeck in the 33rd minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcel Toolenaar was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes got control of the ball when Matias Rompen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomas Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Van De Wiele, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute Matias Rompen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Weed Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Rompen came free, but Thomas Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Weed Excelsior's Henk Stroobos got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thomas Smeekes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Rompen in the 82nd minute. Teo Van De Wiele hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Marcel Toolenaar hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute of the match, Teo Van De Wiele tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thomas Smeekes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Weed Excelsior's Thomas Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Van De Wiele in the 98th minute of play. The Weed Excelsior fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Brakkies New Bastards were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
