Luiz Fernando Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of U18 Cruzeiro booed when Reko-Recko 03™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarbas Pombal in the 39th minute of play forced U18 Cruzeiro's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jhon Rabelo got free with Carlos Eduardo Donatello in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jarbas Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. If Camilo Fresnedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 53 minutes of play, Reko-Recko 03™'s Jarbas Pombal made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Fernando Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in U18 Cruzeiro's zone, Camilo Fresnedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fernando Souza came out of the goal and Camilo Fresnedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Eduardo Donatello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jhon Rabelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute, Camilo Fresnedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U18 Cruzeiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reko-Recko 03™ the free kick. After 85 played minutes U18 Cruzeiro got a freekick which was hit by Raí Sá. When Sílvio Abraão fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U18 Cruzeiro's protests and gave Sílvio Abraão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th minute, Sílvio Abraão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raí Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
