To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diogo Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Borges in the 14th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Dedê Borges notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Quandus's Diogo Negri. Diogo Negri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 20th minute, Yago Balboa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diogo Negri was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 28th match minute, Quandus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Alves to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Luiz Eduardo Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Eduardo Barbosa hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luan de Godoi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdomiro Guerra's late challenge caught a Quandus's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
