Oscar Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Garcia having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Unidade Pinto Louco's goalkeeper Erivaldo Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oscar Massa. Eurico Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Toscano having to interfere. Régis Coutinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Erivaldo Garcia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Erivaldo Garcia made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Oscar Massa sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Régis Coutinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erivaldo Garcia was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Unidade Pinto Louco were furious when Délio Lara was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 27th match minute, Unidade Pinto Louco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Lara to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Unidade Pinto Louco's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Urbano came free, but Erivaldo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erivaldo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Régis Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 30 played minutes Unidade Pinto Louco got a freekick which was hit by Alan Urbano. 31 minutes into the game, Régis Coutinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Erivaldo Garcia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute, Oscar Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC St. Pauli's Oscar Massa got a free kick in the 35th minute. Erivaldo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Régis Coutinho notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Unidade Pinto Louco's Erivaldo Garcia. Erivaldo Garcia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as FC St. Pauli's Mathias das Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erivaldo Garcia. That made the score 3-0 after 43 minutes of play. Oscar Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Zeca Soares made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Mathias das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Massa scored 4-0 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erivaldo Garcia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Erivaldo Garcia came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by FC St. Pauli's Oscar Massa. But to his dismay, Oscar Massa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 61st minute, Oscar Massa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erivaldo Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. In the 63rd minute, Ricardo Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mathias das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 69 minutes into the game, Mathias das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Erivaldo Garcia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Unidade Pinto Louco's Erivaldo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Massa in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute Dadá Novaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Coutinho in the 76th minute of play forced Unidade Pinto Louco's goalkeeper Erivaldo Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erivaldo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adriano Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Erivaldo Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Mathias das Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erivaldo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erivaldo Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC St. Pauli's zone, Zeca Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Toscano came out of the goal and Zeca Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Unidade Pinto Louco defense, Régis Coutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erivaldo Garcia. The Unidade Pinto Louco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erivaldo Garcia should have stopped the shot. The supporters of FC St. Pauli booed when Unidade Pinto Louco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dé Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. There was no doubt that FC St. Pauli were the better team. FC St. Pauli's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
