The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rony Domingues was the one to do the kick off. After 55 minutes, Manuel Damião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Floripa Lions FSCMZ and the Alvinegro Carioca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Quintal took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wágner Miranda. Wágner Miranda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. Sidnei Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Domingues in the 74th minute of play. Léo Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Sidnei Hermes made a huge save. Wágner Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Quintal in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Rony Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Silvinho Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
