After 31 minutes of play, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's André Luís Veiga made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Lopez to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Nelson Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Joinville United - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Guimarães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Jardel Melo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville United - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF the free kick. 60 minutes into the match, BOTAFOGOJF-FDFDF's goalkeeper Andrézinho Porto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Lopez. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júlio Lopez couldn't finish the play. When Jardel Melo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. Jardel Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Nelson Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Andrézinho Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrézinho Porto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio Lopez in the 79th minute.
