If Zeca Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fellipe Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy Goiano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fellipe Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. Portuguesa's Pedro Augusto de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sergio Martins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ruy Goiano made a huge save. Juarês Maranhense hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match.
