Guilherme Xande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Negri in the 4th minute of the match. A collision led to Joinville United - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Breno Meirelles hit a great ball. Haroldo Recife took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guilherme Xande. Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Mesquita came free, but Guilherme Xande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Guilherme Xande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Negri in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Negri in the 15th minute of play forced Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Guilherme Xande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdo Torres got a free kick in the 21st minute. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Jarbas Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- from getting a goal against them. Guilherme Xande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s José Augusto Mesquita got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 34th match minute, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Régis de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Hortêncio Simões's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hortêncio Simões helped the player get up and apologised. Hortêncio Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Luan de Sousa lost his temper 39 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Haroldo Recife did an outstanding performance 42 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-1 to the right of an irritated Guilherme Xande in the goal. Umberto Britto might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jarbas Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Umberto Britto ran back to his position shaking his head. 47 minutes into the game, Guga Negri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville United - FSCMZ the free kick. The supporters of Joinville United - FSCMZ booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson Guimarães couldn't finish the play. José Augusto Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Júlio Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. José Augusto Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guilherme Xande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Régis de Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After 85 minutes, Júlio Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Joinville United - FSCMZ and the Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júlio Lopez hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Umberto Britto hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis de Andrade in the 93rd minute of play forced Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Guilherme Xande to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Joinville United - FSCMZ throughout the match.
