Roberto Abbondanzieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cayetano Goiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After a rather tough play, Joy Division Athletic's Virgilio Chumo got a free kick in the 27th minute. A collision led to Sporting Club Victoria getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Roberto Endura hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the game, Luis Tavio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Club Victoria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joy Division Athletic the free kick. In the 31st minute, Luis Tavio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joy Division Athletic's Romeo Matia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sporting Club Victoria. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valentin Demesio during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valentin Demesio kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Hernan Licerio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Pasqual in the 37th minute. When Esteban Pasqual, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 38 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hernan Licerio was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Eladio in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roberto Abbondanzieri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Virgilio Chumo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joy Division Athletic's protests and gave Virgilio Chumo a yellow card for diving instead. Virgilio Chumo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Hernan Licerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sugoi in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee ignored Joy Division Athletic's protests and gave Esteban Pasqual a yellow card for diving instead. Esteban Pasqual hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 54th match minute, Joy Division Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgilio Chumo to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the game, Cayetano Goiz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roberto Abbondanzieri. After 65 minutes Joy Division Athletic's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cayetano Goiz who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Cayetano Goiz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Joy Division Athletic's Roberto Abbondanzieri did a great save. Hernan Licerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Tartalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Roberto Endura reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roberto Abbondanzieri. The goal made the score 0-2. Norberto Santio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Hernan Licerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 77th minute of the match Virgilio Chumo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Virgilio Chumo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Club Victoria's zone, Esteban Pasqual stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernan Licerio came out of the goal and Esteban Pasqual tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 85 minutes into the game, Cayetano Goiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting Club Victoria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joy Division Athletic the free kick. The supporters of Joy Division Athletic booed when Sporting Club Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cayetano Goiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Joy Division Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Eladio came free, but Roberto Abbondanzieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Joy Division Athletic supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sporting Club Victoria's performance. The match ended with a win for Sporting Club Victoria.
