The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joaquin Phelipe did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Eusebio Pueblo 41 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Gonzalez to make the kick off. A collision led to Academia Club getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Dionisio Dolfo hit a great ball. 53 minutes in the game, Mariano Gonzalez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Aureliano Pacifico having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goalkeeper Aureliano Pacifico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Gonzalez. If Joaquin Phelipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebio Pueblo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Dolfo, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute Joaquin Phelipe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Pueblo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Joaquin Phelipe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Phelipe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusebio Pueblo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Academia Club getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Angel Gonza hit a great ball. Academia Club's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
