In the 11th match minute, Libertad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Gonzalez to maneuver through the defense. Libertad FC's Manuel Benitez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarias Llope in the 12th minute of play. In the 25th match minute, PI FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Pagomari to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Uxio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Cloyo in the 28th minute of play. When Libertad FC's Pascual Montxo in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PI FC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Cloyo in the 41st minute of play forced PI FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Uxio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, PI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Cloyo came free, but Eliseo Uxio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basilio Osmundo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Zacarias Llope made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, PI FC's Ernesto Mambru got a free kick in the 51st minute. 55 minutes into the game, Zacarias Llope cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Manuel Benitez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, PI FC's Leonardo Pagomari got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosme Egoi in the 63rd minute of play forced PI FC's goalkeeper Eliseo Uxio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Benitez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Pagomari in the 68th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the game, Leonardo Pagomari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. The supporters of PI FC booed when Libertad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Hats didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 78th minute of the match Ernesto Mambru completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ernesto Mambru a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeledon Cloyo got free with Eliseo Uxio in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, Zeledon Cloyo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PI FC! Eliseo Uxio went to the wrong direction when Edgardo Gonzalez was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Leonardo Pagomari hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Edgardo Gonzalez from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Eliseo Uxio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Zeledon Cloyo came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eliseo Uxio could save by the left post. Eliseo Uxio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Cloyo in the 96th minute. PI FC's Eliseo Uxio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save PI FC from getting a goal against them. Libertad FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because PI FC had won, even though Libertad FC had held more of the ball.
