But to his dismay, Cosme Matthew quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 29 minutes into the match, German Senen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severino Herena. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that German Senen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto Satordi got free with Prospero Refugio in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Severino Herena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Galeno in the 33rd minute of the match. Evelio Osorio might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Prospero Refugio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evelio Osorio ran back to his position shaking his head. When Independiente's Eriberto Satordi in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Castelar F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Cosme Matthew could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Prospero Refugio made a huge save. Castelar F.C.'s Prospero Refugio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Licerio in the 39th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Benito Licerio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Prospero Refugio, 4-2. Severino Herena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sixto Kusko, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Rolando Osoitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Aureliano Iago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. A hard shot 76 in the game by Rolando Osoitz from a close distance when the talented Severino Herena managed to make a qualified save. Independiente's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Castelar F.C.'s zone, Cosme Matthew stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prospero Refugio came out of the goal and Cosme Matthew tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Independiente had won after a very even match.
