Sergio Gurrieri didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Adrian Umbruso from long distance, 3 minutes into the match, got Santo Mendebal's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 6th minute, Leonardo Godoy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Efrain Ramone kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Santo Mendebal. That made the score 1-0 in the 36 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Pablo Rufio took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Santo Mendebal to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pablo Piatti to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Piquirenda FC's Alberto Ado got a free kick in the 50th minute.
