America De Cali's Ruisko Ocasio got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute Maule Ociña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Elequemedo Mirafuentes made a precise shot to the right of Silvio Morelo. Liga de Quito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Silvio Morelo made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Elequemedo Mirafuentes sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute Ruisko Ocasio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, America De Cali's Ruisko Ocasio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The America De Cali fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romildo Tellez should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute America De Cali were awarded a corner. Sebastiano Machin went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on America De Cali's corner Sebastiano Machin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Silvio Morelo quite easily take care of the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Maule Ociña came free, but Silvio Morelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Danel Belluga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Silvio Morelo. That made the score 3-1 in the 28 minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Danel Belluga notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Liga de Quito's Silvio Morelo. Silvio Morelo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Silvio Morelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-2. Elequemedo Mirafuentes scored 12-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvio Morelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastiano Machin couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. America De Cali had played much better football throughout.
